Avila Real Estate Capital (“AREC”) is seeking a Financial Analyst to play a meaningful role in the company’s expanding private equity lending and development practice.
AREC is a diversified, vertically integrated, real estate investment and private equity firm. AREC utilizes its breadth of real estate experience and expertise to invest in residential debt and development opportunities.
POSITION: Our team is actively looking for a Financial Analyst for our Irvine, CA office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Financial Analyst, you will rapidly assume significant responsibilities related to the underwriting, diligence, and management of transactions that fit the firm’s investment thesis. These responsibilities will include the following:
· Identify and analyze potential residential debt investment opportunities
· Conduct financial modeling and analysis on potential investment opportunities, including cash flow projections, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
· Perform due diligence on potential investments, including market research, property inspections, and financial analysis of borrower creditworthiness
· Prepare investment recommendations and present findings to senior management
· Assist in negotiating terms and conditions of investment opportunities
· Monitor the performance of investments and prepare regular reports
· Engage with broker community to understand the local market conditions and evaluate investment potential
· Stay current with industry trends and market conditions
These responsibilities involve direct and active interaction with the senior executive management. You will be exposed to a high volume of transactions and will be required to come into the position with a strong real estate underwriting skill set.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or related field
· 2+ years work experience with real estate underwriting
· Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of finance and real estate
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically in PowerPoint and Excel
· Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
· Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player as well as take on projects outside of your comfort zone
