Job Description
Miramar Capital is seeking a Controller for our rapidly growing team.
The Controller will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting, and oversight of a team of staff accountants (both internally and externally managed).
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities

Manage the daily accounting for an open-ended industrial portfolio that’s comprised of distribution warehouse and outdoor storage logistic centers

Assist in managing relationships and liaise with internal resources, external resources, external fund administrator(s), and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines

Assist with external CPA firms to meet quarterly/annual tax compliance requirements

Oversee and review monthly/quarterly/annual property financial reports with fund administrator and 3rd party property managers

Assist with debt compliance reporting

Review of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for the joint venture as well as capital account summaries for limited partners

Assist with preparation of quarterly/annual/ad-hoc reporting requirements to investors for private REITs

Prepare/maintain cash flow projections and daily cash management

Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner, capital markets, investor relations and front-office requests

Various special projects/reports for both internal and external use
Education/Certification
-
Bachelor’s Degree required
-
Licensed CPA (or candidate for licensure) preferred
Experience Required
-
At least 7 plus years of relevant professional experience including public accounting and/or fund accounting experience

Real estate accounting and system knowledge a plus

Advanced Excel experience strongly preferred

Strong understanding of business and accounting principles (US GAAP)

Excellent Excel skills (know basic functions such as index/match, v and h lookup, sumifs, pivot tables)

Ability to multi-task and prioritize/manage deadlines

Excellent commonsense, organizational, and interpersonal skills
