Job Description
Our equity business makes and manages CRE equity investments in multifamily, industrial, office, land for the development of such, and other types of CRE equity investments as warranted by market conditions.
Our affiliated credit business, Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies, L.P. (MRECS) is focused on transitional commercial real estate lending and other debt investments.
Summary
Essential Functions
- Financial Modeling & Underwriting: develop, audit, and maintain complex financial models for acquisitions, development within the project, joint ventures, recapitalizations, and dispositions
- Market Research & Due Diligence: conduct detailed market, submarket, and asset-level research to support investment decisions. Assist with leading third-party consultant engagements (appraisers, etc.)
- Investment Memo Preparation: prepare and present comprehensive investment memoranda for internal review and approval
- Transaction Support: support deal execution through negotiation assistance, transaction documentation review, and coordination with Legal, Tax & Compliance teams
- Asset Management Support: provide underwriting and analytical support, including hold/sell/refinance analyses and reforecasting as needed
- Capital Markets Interface: support capital raising activities through investor presentations, data room management, and responding to due diligence inquiries
- 3-6 years of real estate investment, development, or capital markets experience with a focus on equity investments
- Advanced proficiency in Excel modeling; familiarity with Argus Enterprises preferred
- Deep understanding of real estate valuation techniques, market fundamentals, debt/equity structures, and investment metrics (IRR, Equity Multiple, Waterfalls)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Phoenix real estate market a plus, but not required
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in Real Estate preferred
