Job Description
Position Overview
The Asset Management Vice President will be based in San Francisco, New York or Chicago and will play a critical role in managing StepStone’s real estate investments. The right candidate will accomplish investment initiatives with partners while delivering recommendations to senior investment team members.
This is an exciting opportunity for a real estate professional to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to the growth and success of a premier real estate investment firm. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Investment Management: Lead investment outcomes, overseeing performance and progress. Analyze investment-level decisions, create internal memorandums, and present findings to decision makers.
- Portfolio Management: Accomplish investment and business objectives. Maintain strong relationships with operating partners and clients.
- Business Plans and Budgets: Control business plans, budgets, and capital projects. Identity key risks and opportunities for value enhancement.
- Investment Analysis: Work closely with operating partners to monitor progress and performance of investments. Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements. Related work includes site inspections, manager meetings, market research and broker discussions.
- Debt Compliance: Monitor performance of investments against debt compliance requirements and forecast future performance.
- Reporting: Oversee preparation of internal reports, client reports, quarterly valuations and ad-hoc requests.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in real estate asset management, investment management, or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, expertise in cash flow modelling, appraisal analysis, valuations, and joint venture structures.
- Educational Background: Undergraduate degree from top-tier institution with a focus in finance, real estate, or a related discipline
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present to internal committees and clients.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
- Attention to Detail: High level of commitment and self-motivation; strong attention to detail
