Job Description

Backed by leading institutional investors, the firm focuses on transitional, special-situation, and structured credit opportunities throughout North America. Derby Lane is registered with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission as an investment adviser.
- Underwrite and analyze commercial real estate debt investment opportunities across property types including multifamily, condo, hospitality, industrial, office, and retail
 - Prepare detailed financial models and investment memos for internal investment committee review
 - Conduct comprehensive due diligence including market analysis, property inspections, and third-party report review
 - Coordinate with external parties including borrowers, brokers, attorneys, and consultants throughout the transaction process
 - Monitor existing loan portfolio performance and prepare quarterly portfolio reports
 - Assist with asset management activities including lease reviews, capital improvement projects, etc.
 - Research commercial real estate market trends, comparable transactions, and economic indicators
 - Maintain databases of market information and transaction activity
 - Prepare market summaries and investment theme presentations for senior management
 
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
 - 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate, investment banking, or related financial services
 - Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency
 - Knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals including valuation methods, market dynamics, and financing structures
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 - Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities
 - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real estate debt underwriting
 - Understanding of bridge lending and construction financing
 - Experience with Argus, CoStar, or similar real estate software platforms
