Job Description
- In coordination with the Construction Management project team, lead the development, preparation, and maintenance of project cost estimation, construction cost accounting, cost control, financial risk management, and contingency determination and management, incorporating current best practices used in the construction and transportation infrastructure industries.
- Ensures integration of cost practices and methods, and supports the development of cost management policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate input from Contract Management Specialists and Construction Managers on areas impacting project costs and budget.
- Participates in risk evaluation sessions or preconstruction reviews for major capital construction projects/programs in coordination with the risk manager and construction management teams.
- Responsible for all activities detailed above, while gathering input from relevant parties (e.g., Contract Management Specialist, Construction Managers) and receiving approval from the Project Director on areas impacting the development and construction projects.
- Works directly with the VP Capital Projects to prepare monthly project and construction management reports and to coordinate the processing of payments to contractors and vendors.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, with a CPA designation preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Infrastructure, Transportation, or Real Estate Construction industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated project control cost skills.
- Experienced with Aconex, Net Suite, SAGE/Timberline, Procore, PMWeb, and MSPS.
- Experience with Project Controls management relating to cost, scheduling, and estimating at a project level.
- Extremely detail-oriented individual who possesses comprehensive knowledge of document management processes.
