Job Description
The Acquisitions Associate will assist in all aspects of the real estate acquisitions/investment process including underwriting, due diligence, market analysis, interaction with brokers and capital partners and executing capital markets transactions including debt and equity financings. Primary responsibilities include financial modeling, preparation of investment summaries, maintaining internal databases, communication with multiple third parties and performing various due diligence functions. The candidate will gain broad exposure to real estate investment and development in the New York City MSA.
Required Skills
• Strong financial and analytic experience including an understanding of IRR, NPV analysis and various JV deal structures
• Demonstrated interest in the acquisition and development of real estate in NYC
• Knowledge of real estate principles and techniques as they relate to acquisition, development, operations and disposition of assets
• Strong analytical and cognitive skills that will lead to success in an entrepreneurial and dynamic team environment
• Ability to take ownership of complex financial modeling, market diligence and underwriting process
• Proactive and a self-starter with an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work under strict deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in real estate investment and development or investment banking or commercial banking with a focus on real estate
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in finance, real estate or a related field
• Argus and Excel financial modeling experience required
Compensation
Compensation for this position includes an approximate base salary of $100,000-$125,000 (depending on several factors including but not limited to education and work experience) and an annual performance-based discretionary bonus opportunity, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision plans, 401k, and paid time off.
