Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Development Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting related to our development projects—tracking budgets, managing draws, reconciling costs, and supporting reporting for both internal stakeholders and external partners. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring our developments remain on schedule, on budget, and aligned with our luxury brand standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting related to our development projects—tracking budgets, managing draws, reconciling costs, and supporting reporting for both internal stakeholders and external partners. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring our developments remain on schedule, on budget, and aligned with our luxury brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records for multiple development projects.
- Prepare monthly project cost reports, variance analyses, and forecasts.
- Monitor and reconcile construction and development budgets, ensuring all expenditures are properly coded.
- Process and track construction draws and loan requisitions.
- Coordinate with project managers, development teams, and external vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Assist with financial modeling and cash flow projections for active and planned projects.
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience in real estate development, construction, or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, development draw processes, and real estate project financing.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Sage 300, QuickBooks Enterprise) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
