The company is supported by 170 full-time employees, including full-time accounting, legal, architectural, construction, maintenance and property management professionals that support all of the management and leasing needs of the Company's portfolio.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is a hands-on accounting leadership role with responsibility for financial operations across multiple real estate entities. This role is responsible for overseeing the in-house accounting for select properties, financial reporting, treasury, and ownership reporting. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage timely and accurate recording of all financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. 
·         Collaborate with Division Directors, Property Management to ensure proper accounting of accounts receivable and cash receipts. 
·         Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure proper uploading, recording and security of accounting information in the Company’s property management software. 
·         Oversee month-end accounting closing timetable and related reporting requirements. Manage processing and monthly reconciliation of cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and debt. 
·         Enforce current controls, procedures, and reports to ensure conformity with Company policy. Establish, maintain, update the department’s policies and procedures.
·         Ensure compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley. Respond to internal audit deliverables. 
·         Manage Accounts payable staff of four professionals to ensure accurate and timely processing of property and corporate invoices.
·         Review quarterly cash requirement estimates for review with CFO.
·         Review monthly financial statements prepared by Accounting team members.
·         Collaborate with outside CPA for preparation of taxes and review financial statements.
·         Prepare fiscal year comparison real estate taxes to help determine abatements with owner, CFO, and real estate tax attorney to ensure 38D forms are filed yearly with cities and towns.
·         Ensure that all vendors follow the company’s insurance requirements. Oversee 1099 preparation.
·         Support in-house construction company: process payroll and cost code information from job sites; collaborate with President and Project Managers to ensure labor expenses correctly accounted for; process payments for union employee benefits; setup Progress Billing and Time & Material billing jobs in accounting system; prepare monthly financial statements.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

At least ten years of professional accounting experience, ideally with property or real estate portfolios. Public accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of Realpage, Timberline, Yardi preferred. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software. Ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate at all levels in the Company. Strong drive to create a positive, diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment. Operates with teamwork, discipline and maintains the highest ethical standards. Must be authorized to work in the United States. References will be checked, including a CORI.
