The ideal candidate for the Manager of Business Development shall have the political aptitude and leadership presence to attract, retain and grow the retail and commercial businesses in the Aurora community, along with prior experience in retail recruitment, economic development and commercial brokerage. This role will plan, manage, and administer the City's Retail Strategy, business incentive programs and relationships with external economic development partners under the direction of the Director of Planning and Business Development. The Manager will also be responsible for managing an annual budget of approximately $1,291,098 and a staff comprised of 3 FTEs.

Candidates shall have a bachelor's degree in public administration, planning, finance, economics, or related field; at least 3 years' progressively responsible experience in project management, business or economic development, and retail attraction, retention and growth; and 3 years' supervisory experience. Master's degree is preferred.
