Job Description
- Perform Loan and REO financial analysis: assist in monitoring the Firm’s portfolio at a minimum quarterly, including:
- Analyzing actual performance versus underwriting and budget, updating relevant local, regional, and national market statistics, and property and investment valuations
- Identifying and monitoring asset and investment risks including establishing a system for tracking loan covenants and other early warning indicators to ensure compliance
- Support for REO investments, including property projections and scenario analysis
- Participate in the production and presentation of quarterly and ad-hoc asset management reports to senior management and third-party investors:
- Update QARs for assigned loans
- Coordinate information flow between Hillcrest and third-party service providers
- Review, assembly and distribution of QARs to investors
- Coordination of investor responses and finalization of report
- Work with servicers and senior asset managers to analyze, process, approve, and facilitate loan draws
- Assist in REO takeovers, including coordinating with property managers and Hillcrest, establishing of bank accounts, and interfacing with lender on corporate and property due diligence requests
- Assist in loan modifications and lender approval processes in response to borrower requests
- Travel periodically to inspect existing portfolio investment properties
- Assist in the enhancement and development of asset management process and procedures, including project management of migration of format from Word to Excel to database
- Maintain and monitor loan database, including onboarding new transactions
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2 to 3 years of related commercial real estate experience focused on real estate credit asset management
- Strategic/critical thinker, ability to simplify complex ideas, excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
- Financial analytic and underwriting skills (real estate DCF analysis, proficient use of Excel, Argus and Co-Star a plus)
- Strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and work collaboratively,
- Project management skills: ability to apply artificial intelligence solutions to processes a strong plus
