As a growing organization, we are seeking a highly capable Asset Manager who can take ownership of complex projects, work independently, and navigate challenges with confidence and creativity.
The Asset Manager will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and optimizing the performance of the companies affordable housing assets. This role requires a proactive, analytical professional who can work independently and effectively collaborate with tenants, property management teams, lenders, investors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Because we are a small team, the ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership, navigating challenges as they arise, and ensuring our properties operate at their highest potential.
- Oversee financial, physical, and regulatory performance of a diversified portfolio of affordable housing properties.
- Conduct regular financial reviews, including analysis of operating statements, budgets, cash flow, reserves, and capital needs.
- Ensure compliance with LIHTC, HUD, TCAC, CDLAC, and other state/local regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party property managers, providing oversight and guidance to ensure high-quality operations.
- Monitor and manage capital improvement plans, rehabilitation scopes, and long-term asset strategies.
- Prepare asset management reports for internal leadership, lenders, investors, and regulatory partners
- Lead annual budget reviews and assist with refinancing, resyndication, and recapitalization efforts as needed.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve financial and physical performance.
- Support due diligence for acquisitions and assist with property transitions from construction to permanent.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in affordable housing asset management or related real estate roles.
- Strong understanding of LIHTC regulations, compliance standards, and affordable housing financial structures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a small team, owning tasks from start to finish.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with property managers, agency staff, and financial partners.
- Strong financial review, and analytical skills.
- Experience evaluating property operations, capital needs, and long-term asset planning.
- Familiarity with property management software, compliance platforms, and financial reporting tools.
