Vice President of Acquisitions - Mixed Use (NYC / East Coast)


Thor Equities LLC, a top real estate equity firm, has an exceptional opportunity available in its acquisitions department. 


 Primary Responsibilities:


  • Locating NYC deals that present excellent short-term financial opportunities and long-term upside potential.
  • Identify and pursue new equity acquisition and joint-venture opportunities in RETAIL & OFFICE space properties.
  • Cold call and contact brokers, landlords and developers to source new leads on properties.
  • Employ persuasive negotiation/deal making skills to negotiate terms and close transactions.

Transaction Evaluation & Execution:
 
  • Analyze, structure, and evaluate potential transactions.
  • Complete due diligence, make recommendations regarding issues and findings.
  • Interpret and communicate complex financial analyses.
  • Conduct market research including demographics, psychographics, and supply-and-demand factors.
  • Provide timely updates on all active and potential acquisitions.

Departmental & External Engagement:
 
  • Collaborate with the internal acquisitions team to complete financial analysis as well as liaise with consultants, attorneys and other external partners.
  • Work with the Marketing department to create brand imaging.
  • Work with the Lease Administrator to support objectives.
  • Utilize contacts to secure new acquisition opportunities.
  • Attend tradeshows and industry events to cultivate contacts.
 
Job Qualifications: 

  • Must have established strong broker relationships in NYC.
  • Proven ability to take a deal from inception to closing.
  • Must be able to present deal sheets summarizing sourced and executed transactions.
  • Minimum 7 years of related industry experience
  • Strong understanding of lease negotiations and lease language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as needed.
  • Resourceful and persuasive in nature.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Positive, proactive work ethic and approach.
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Computer savvy with financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-management skills
  • Must have well-developed organizational skills.
