Job Description
- Screening potential investment opportunities, which may involve large-scale market research analysis
- Performing detailed financial underwriting, including:
- Creating and updating of acquisition financial models
- Conducting primary market research in order to validate underwriting assumptions
- Leverage Palatine’s off-shore team to streamline underwriting analysis
- Facilitating the acquisition process by:
- Managing acquisition due diligence and coordinating with sellers, seller’s brokers, third party consultants, legal counsel, etc.
- Preparing closing statements, sources and uses schedules, coordinating with internal departments, and various other tasks related to the closing process
- Preparation of investment committee memoranda and other related materials
- Actively participating in numerous aspects of the property level due diligence process by interacting and coordinating with operating partners, consultants and other third parties
- Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement at a top-tier undergraduate educational institution (concentration in finance, accounting and/or real estate is preferred but not required)
- 1-5 years of experience at an investment bank and/or real estate private equity firm
- Some asset-level real estate experience is preferred
- Superior quantitative and financial modeling skills, with proven analytical abilities in real estate
- Excel experience is mandatory
- Proficient with PowerPoint
- Strong business writing skills / experience writing investment memoranda
- Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement at a top-tier undergraduate educational institution (concentration in finance, accounting and/or real estate is preferred but not required)
- Basic understanding of various debt and equity structures
- Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, multi-task and thrive in an entrepreneurial setting
- Strict attention to detail, strong work ethic, integrity and ability to take direction
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Passion for real estate investing
- Intellectually curious and not afraid to ask questions
- Willingness to learn new concepts
