Position Summary
The Analyst/Associate will conduct research and analysis of economic, demographic and real estate market conditions. The individual will be an important member of the analytical forecasting team, utilizing in-house models to develop economic and property sector outlooks. The Analyst/Associate will contribute to consulting deliverables covering a broad range of topics such as economic analysis, real estate market overviews, equity and debt fundraising materials, property sector white papers, and public policy issues. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with large quantities of data and produce written reports conveying the analysis through clear and concise language. The ideal applicant is a motivated self-starter and highly detail-oriented individual with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn. The position is based in Berkeley.
Responsibilities
- Analyze economic, demographic and real estate data.
- Contribute to quarterly forecasting procedures.
- Author reports analyzing trends in metro areas, regions and nation.
- Contribute to consulting projects through analysis, data support and report writing.
- Provide analytical support, including memos and data, to external clients.
- Convey the firm’s outlook on macroeconomic trends, capital markets and real estate property sectors to our clients.
- Interact with clients, including executive-level real estate and financial industry individuals.
- Assist with production of presentation materials for Partners’ use.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
- Background in economics, real estate, urban planning or finance.
- Understanding of economic and financial concepts required.
- Demonstrated interest in commercial or residential real estate.
- Data or statistical analysis experience.
- Highly motivated and self-driven.
- Ability to work well with teams and independently.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Must be able to work efficiently with time-sensitive deadlines.
- Expert with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign or other desktop publishing software useful.
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or Access helpful.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, real estate, finance, business or related field required.
