Since our founding in 2018, we've structured senior debt, mezzanine and secondary loans, and joint venture equity across every major commercial real estate asset class and deal size, with transactions closed nationwide. We're principals-first, relationship-driven, and known for creative structuring across the full capital stack — from multifamily and mixed-use to office repositions, construction, and recapitalizations.

We're growing the team and looking for a Senior Analyst / Associate to join the group focused on our upper middle market and large loan transactions.

The Role

This seat sits within JBA's upper middle market and large loan practice, working directly alongside the firm's principals on the firm's largest, most complex financings. You'll underwrite deals, build OMs, prepare lender materials, and support the principals through every stage of the transaction. It's the right fit for someone who wants high-ownership analytical reps on institutional-size transactions while learning the brokerage and capital-markets side of CRE from operators who consistently close.

What You'll Do

  • Underwrite upper middle market and large loan CRE transactions across asset classes (multifamily, mixed-use, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, construction/development)
  • Build and stress-test cash flow models, sources & uses, and return waterfalls in Excel
  • Draft offering memoranda, lender packages, and investment summaries for institutional-quality deals
  • Support principals throughout the deal process — preparing materials for lender outreach, tracking term sheets and lender feedback, and helping move transactions from launch to close
  • Track market activity — rates, spreads, lender appetite, comps — and translate it into actionable intel for clients
  • Maintain and expand JBA's institutional capital source relationships (money center banks, debt funds, life cos, CMBS shops, agencies, family offices)
  • Support principals on client pitches, BOVs, and new business development

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in CRE debt brokerage, lending (bank / debt fund / agency / CMBS), investment sales, acquisitions, or CRE investment banking — large-loan or institutional deal exposure strongly preferred
  • Strong underwriting and modeling chops — Excel fluency is non-negotiable
  • Sharp written communication; can produce a clean, lender-ready OM with minimal hand-holding
  • Tri-State market knowledge preferred; comfort working on deals nationwide
  • High-motor, detail-obsessed, deal-hungry — you want to be in the seat, not behind it
  • Bachelor's degree; real estate, finance, or economics concentration a plus

Nice to have:

  • Hospitality experience — hotel lending, acquisitions, asset management, or capital markets exposure — and familiarity with hospitality-specific underwriting (STR data, brand/PIP economics, management agreements, RevPAR/ADR/occupancy drivers)
