Real Estate Asset Manager
M1 Ventures
Job Description
Firm: M1 Ventures
Location: Soho, New York City (In-Office)
Reports to: Managing Partners
About M1 Ventures
M1 Ventures is a New York-based real estate investment firm focused on value-add multifamily and mixed-use acquisitions in premier Manhattan neighborhoods. We own and operate a portfolio of properties across Soho, the East Village, Noho, Nolita, and select markets outside New York. We acquire 2-4 assets per year alongside institutional family office capital partners. We are a lean, high-ownership team where every member works directly alongside the founding partners and has visibility into the full business.
The Role
The Asset Manager owns day-to-day operations across M1 Ventures’ income-producing portfolio, the assets that have been acquired, renovated, and stabilized. Property managers, leasing brokers, and vendors report into this role. You are the quarterback, setting the standard, coordinating the right people, and driving outcomes across leasing, investor relations, expense management, compliance, and long-term building initiatives. This is a high-autonomy role that works closely with managing partners. This role is for someone with 3-7 years of asset management experience who is ready to run a portfolio independently and grow with a firm that rewards performance.
What You Will Own
- Property managers, brokers, and vendors. You lead them, hold them accountable, and get results.
- Leasing end-to-end. Once rent targets are set, you coordinate with leasing brokers and property managers to see every lease through to signing, including renewals, concessions, and application vetting.
- Building emergencies, tenant issues, and repair situations from start to finish, coordinating property managers, vendors, and contractors until issues are closed.
- Long-term building initiatives: regulatory, legal, operational, and commercial projects that require coordination, persistence, and follow-through. No two are the same.
- The full operational calendar: annual budgeting, internal monthly reporting, quarterly distributions, investor reports, K-1 coordination, lender and insurance compliance.
- Expense control across the portfolio: vendor renegotiations, tax appeals, insurance reviews, utility audits, and scrutiny of every cost.
- Operational improvements. You spot inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement them.
- Lease and contract enforcement, with established protocols when counterparties are not in compliance.
What This Role Grows Into
The person who succeeds here will take on more responsibility over time: deeper relationships with our investors and lenders, involvement in asset strategy and business planning, and more exposure to acquisitions, refinancings, and dispositions. If you perform, you are recognized and rewarded.
