About Peakline Real Estate Funds
Peakline Real Estate Funds, LLC (“PREF”), the real estate arm of Peakline, manages a $5 billion real estate portfolio and is currently sponsoring six development funds. Formed in 2018, PREF owns and operates approximately 17+ million SF of multifamily, logistics, and mixed-use properties throughout the US. The partners are nationally known leaders in finance, real estate, private equity, and wealth management.
Associate – Investments
PREF is seeking a qualified Associate to become a member of the Investments team. The position will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Chicago, IL and require occasional travel throughout the continental United States (<15%). The position will report to senior team members and receive exposure to various property types, markets, and aspects of real estate acquisitions and developments. This position is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team of real estate professionals at PREF, gaining exposure to institutional quality real estate investing from one of the nation’s leading platforms.
Primary Job Responsibilities
• Build and maintain complex commercial real estate acquisition and development models in Excel and Argus
• Prepare detailed investment memorandums for the Investment and Operating Committee and external investors
• Support transactions from initial sourcing through closing
• Maintain internal models used to reproject asset and fund level return performance
• Communicate and collaborate with various partners including development, construction, operations, and leasing teams to be informed on all aspects of responsible projects
• Distill market reports, broker feedback, and partner information into a synthesized thesis
• Develop and maintain external relationships with operating partners, market intermediaries, legal counsel, industry peers, and consultants to perform due diligence, gather market intel, and source potential investments
• Generate reports for the investment and operating committee and investor updates across PREF’s fund portfolios
• Partner with asset management to execute post-close business plans
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, MBA is a plus
• 2-5 years of experience in real estate, private equity, financial analysis, or related field
• Strong financial modelling ability in Excel and Argus
• Strong PowerPoint skills to create internal and external presentations/memos
• Proven ability to underwrite, analyze, and diligence multifamily and industrial real estate acquisitions and developments
• Thrives in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment and collaborates effectively across functions and managers
• Communication skills to synthesize and present to senior stakeholders
• Experience working with AI/data tools for real estate acquisitions/asset management is a plus
What We Offer
At Peakline, we focus on people first. As a service business, our people are our assets. Engaging our clients and employees is our highest priority. Starting base salary range: $100,000 - $130,000. Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, and industry knowledge.
