Job Description
Our SelectLeaders client is a privately owned real estate investment and operating company with a family office culture and an entrepreneurial approach to ownership. With a portfolio of approximately 2,750 multifamily units and 300,000 square feet of commercial real estate across the Western United States, the company takes a hands-on approach to property operations and asset management.
This is a highly visible, boots-on-the-ground leadership role that requires significant time spent at the properties working directly with Community Managers, maintenance teams, residents, and vendors. Unlike larger institutional organizations where Regional Managers may operate remotely, this position is expected to maintain a strong on-site presence throughout the portfolio, building relationships, solving problems in real time, and ensuring operational excellence across all communities.
The ideal candidate thrives in a smaller, collaborative environment where access to leadership is direct, decisions are made quickly, and individuals are empowered to take ownership of their portfolio. Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who enjoys being in the field, mentoring teams, and driving results through engagement rather than oversight from a distance.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple multifamily communities, ensuring operational excellence and consistency across all sites.
- Collaborate with on-site teams to drive strong performance, maximize resident satisfaction, and uphold company standards.
- Conduct regular property inspections and manage maintenance activities, capital projects, and overall asset performance.
- Monitor financial reports and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.
- Lead and implement strategic leasing and marketing initiatives to achieve occupancy, retention, and revenue objectives.
- Train and mentor Property Managers and on-site teams, fostering professional development and high-performing operations
- Manage and schedule vendors for routine property maintenance and upkeep.
- Cultivate an entrepreneurial “ownership” mindset among Community Managers to promote accountability and engagement. Regularly tour communities to ensure exceptional property appearance, build relationships with team members, survey resident satisfaction, and recommend operational improvements to enhance resident experience and retention.
- Supervise Community Managers in conducting move-out inspections, overseeing unit renovations, and coordinating move-ins to ensure timely turnovers and minimize vacancy loss.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all communities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven experience in multifamily property management including regional or multi-site oversight.
- High School Diploma, equivalent post secondary education is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities with onsite staff.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with residents, vendors, and team members.
- Thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys spending significant time on-site working directly with property teams rather than operating primarily from an office setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel weekly between sites.
- CAM or CAP is preferred
$45 - $53 an hour
PTO beginning at two weeks accrued, then additional weeks added for milestone years of: 4, 6, and 10 years! Up to 5 Weeks PTO!
