Property Management Controller

The opportunity: At Acento Real Estate Partners, we're looking for a Property Management Controller who wants to do more than manage the numbers. We're seeking a hands-on finance leader who takes ownership, develops people, improves processes, and partners with operations to help drive our growing real estate platform.

This is a high-impact leadership role within our Accounting team, offering the opportunity to shape financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and build a best-in-class finance organization.

You'll partner closely with executive leadership to help shape financial strategy while building a best-in-class accounting organization.

What you'll do

1. Lead the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
2. Oversee property accounting, cash management, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls.
3. Monitor financial performance, identify risks and trends, and recommend solutions.
4. Improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiencies, including RealPage.
5. Partner with Operations, Asset Management, Treasury, Tax, and executive leadership.
6. Coach, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2. CPA required
3. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience
4. Commercial or multifamily real estate accounting experience required
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls
6. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; RealPage experience strongly preferred
