Asset Manager – Conventional Multifamily
Position Overview
Our organization is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee the financial and operational performance of a diverse conventional multifamily portfolio. This position partners closely with Asset Management, Operations, and executive leadership to optimize portfolio performance, execute business strategies, and maximize long-term asset value. The Asset Manager will lead strategic initiatives, evaluate financial performance, collaborate with operations to drive results, and deliver executive-level reporting and analysis while serving as a trusted business partner across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead asset management for a portfolio of multifamily communities located throughout the United States, including assets managed by both in-house teams and third-party management companies.
- Drive property financial performance by analyzing and optimizing NOI, occupancy, revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, and overall investment returns. Review monthly financial statements, identify trends and variances, and develop strategies to enhance asset performance.
- Lead recurring operational and financial review meetings with Regional Managers, Property Managers, and executive leadership to assess performance, identify risks, and implement action plans.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, forecasts, business plans, and capital improvement (CapEx) strategies to maximize long-term asset value.
- Prepare executive dashboards, portfolio performance reports, investor presentations, and other reporting for senior leadership and ownership.
- Coordinate lender reporting requirements, including financial reporting, insurance compliance, reserve requests, and other asset-related deliverables.
- Provide regular portfolio performance updates, highlighting key financial and operational metrics, market trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate leasing performance, pricing strategies, renewals, concessions, delinquency, expense management, and other key operational drivers impacting asset performance.
- Perform financial analyses related to hold/sell decisions, refinancing opportunities, acquisitions, dispositions, and major capital investments.
- Partner closely with Accounting, Operations, Acquisitions, Property Management, and executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives and optimize portfolio performance.
- Maintain accurate asset-level data, including capital expenditures, debt, taxes, insurance, reserves, ownership contributions, and distributions.
- Prepare cash flow and distribution analyses, quarterly investor reporting, and other ownership reporting requirements.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain financial models, portfolio analytics, KPI dashboards, and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of multifamily asset management experience.
- Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills; Argus experience preferred.
- Experience with PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Yardi.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and investor reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to influence operations and improve asset performance.
- Excellent writing abilities, executive communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Business, or related field.

Location & Compensation
- Location: In-office position based in West Los Angeles.
- Compensation: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a discretionary performance bonus.
