Job Description

Job Summary:

The ED of Capital Markets is responsible for all aspects of the financing cycle from designing financing structure to closing the loans, restructuring loans and overseeing lender communications. He/she must be results-driven, with strong leadership potential.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. In conjunction with senior management, liaise with real estate lenders/brokers to build and maintain relationships, communicate the company's strategies, establish company’s creditworthiness, introduce Gemdale projects, and acquire market intelligence;
  2. Work with current lenders, acquisition team, finance team and development team on loan draw requests, loan renegotiation, repayments, and compliance with covenants after closing;
  3. Analyze and understand real estate capital markets and trends, and present findings to senior management, prepare monthly capital markets reports.
  4. Work as liaison with China headquarters on all Capital Market related requests
  5. Advise acquisition team on capital structures and financing cost assumptions for prospective projects;
  6. Design financing structure, prepare deal packages for lenders, acquire term sheets, negotiate loan documents and coordinate a closing team including lenders, attorneys, title companies and 3rd party due diligence providers for invested projects;
  7. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree in Finance and/or Real Estate; Master degree preferred;
  2. 15 years of experience in real estate financing;
  3. Demonstrated track record of sourcing and executing loans;
  4. Strong understanding of real estate capital markets for different loan types;
  5. Strong existing network among target lenders and brokers;
  6. Strong working knowledge of real estate investment and borrowing;
  7. Advanced Microsoft applications experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and results oriented attitude;
  9. Ability to work as a team player;
  10. Outstanding time-management skills and ability to multi-task;
  11. Bi-lingual Mandarin preferred.
