Job Description Waterman Interests, LLC, a privately-held commercial real estate firm specializing in the acquisition, leasing, financing, management and re-development of office and retail properties, is seeking to hire a financial analyst to work in its acquisitions and leasing departments.
The analyst will be responsible for financial analysis and modeling of new investments and lease transactions. The position will offer the candidate a real-world understanding of the commercial real estate business, particularly from the perspective of a real estate investment and operating company.
Duties and Responsibilities
The analyst’s duties and responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing the Company’s financial models (Excel and Argus) to evaluate investment opportunities and lease transactions
- Researching market data for inclusion in investment committee memoranda and presentations
- Maintaining accurate operating models of the Company’s portfolio assets
- Assisting in the creation of business plans and budgets
- Drafting of lease proposals to prospective tenants, and collaboration with leasing teams
- Conducting space tours with prospective tenants and their leasing brokers
- Coordinating and planning print and digital marketing, and events with third-party leasing and investment sales brokers
- Providing general support to the company’s senior staff
Qualifications
The analyst should have a good understanding of commercial real estate analysis. Qualifications include:
- Approximately two years of experience working in the real estate department of an investment bank or at an institutional real estate investment or operating firm
- Proficient Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Deal experience using Argus Enterprise to model real estate assets and investments
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to work in a collaborative, multi-faceted business
- Driven, goal-oriented personality with a desire to advance individually as the Company grows
