Real Estate Associate Job Description
The Associate will be responsible for supporting the asset management activities for a portfolio of commercial properties throughout the country. In addition, this individual will support firm wide analytical activities.
This position requires a hands-on self-starter with the ability to take initiative and solve problems.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain cash flow models in Excel and Argus
- Monitor the performance of the commercial portfolio from an analytical perspective
- Assist in the implementation of property business plans, the preparation of asset valuations and annual budgets
- Prepare hold/sell/refinance analysis
- Facilitate information flow between property management, accounting, and construction teams
- Implement turnaround strategies for any under performing assets
- Create presentation materials and communications sent to prospective Tenants, Brokers and Lenders
- Oversee and track implementation of capital initiatives
- Participate in the disposition process and assist with due diligence through closing
- Establish and maintain project files and databases
- Minimum of 2 years in the Real Estate industry
- Strong work ethic, must be able to see projects through to completion, self-motivated, resourceful and proactive
- Strong computer skills - Excel - Argus - Database Systems Preferred
- Strong financial modeling and finance skills - this will be tested in the interview process
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, writing and research skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize, and multi-task under pressure
- Commercial asset-class experience necessary, other asset types preferred
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University
