Job Description
Savills Studley is currently seeking a Research Manager in either our Houston location.
The Research Manager will provide real estate market and business information for business development, client support and internal analysis, and will deliver statistics and analyses for use in the creation and publication of presentation materials and market reports.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct research on behalf of the Houston and Austin market brokers. Utilize business information, real estate analytics, and GIS/demographic resources. Enhance and supplement research information with applicable statistics and analysis.
- Conduct research using the internet, third party services and other media resources
- Establish relationships with other market area research analysts and experts in order to exchange information and keep abreast of relevant industry developments
- Work closely with headquarters and local brokerage teams in defining, populating and maintaining proprietary market information databases, including property profile, tenant canvassing and lease comp data
- Maintain comprehensive files on Houston & Austin’s commercial buildings, including information on offers, buildings for sale and subleases. Maintain up-to-date information on the Houston and Austin office market and economy through real estate news, broker communication, research peers, industry meetings, and other means
- Assist in the research and preparation of white papers and other Company publications, including monthly topical reports addressing tenants’ real estate issues and questions
- Submit office, market and trend information to publications/media as directed and assist in responding to requests for information from journalists
- Perform customized research and analysis projects as needed to back-up brokers, including non-local market surveys and/or lease comparables, demographic reports and news searches
- Attend internal Market Overviews and Researcher meetings
- Provide information on individual prospects, including SEC filings, locations, family tree, etc., on a per project basis
- Provide and verify data integrity of quarterly market statistics; coordinate narrative writing, information submission and approval processes for local Company reports
- Train brokers to use third party applications such as CoStar, Loopnet, OneSource, and Directories USA and act as the resident support for in-house usage
Experience/Education/Qualifications:
- BA or BS Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of related real estate, business information research and/or analysis experience
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Accomplished with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet research, and various other types of analytical and presentation software
- Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues succinctly; create and conduct effective presentations;
- Proactive, self-motivated, adaptable, organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and
