Working Title: 2019 Fellow - CAAPB
Job Summary
This is a part-time (5 hours per week) temporary unclassified position with the Capitol Area Architecture and Planning Board (CAAPB) expected to last until February of 2020. The position may be extended.

This planning position will create a communication plan to update, create and enhance website, email, and social media based content related to the activities of the CAAPB Office. The plan will help publicize planning and zoning related documents to the public, and include an effective strategy to engage stakeholders in the development and review of draft comprehensive plan elements developed by CAAPB staff.
During the year, the Fellow may also assist in planning activities related to the CAAPB's community based planning and the review of development proposals in the sixty-block Capitol Area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates will have a minimum of one year of work experience, coursework or internships that demonstrate experience and proficiency in one or more of the following: Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Historical Research, Sustainability Practices, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Urban Design, or related field
- Ability to write and communicate information in a way that is clear and accessible to the general public
- Strong collaboration skills
- Website graphics and website text editing experience and capacities
- Graphic design
- Management or use of e-mail based and social media tools (personal or professional experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will also carry experience in many of the following:
- Architectural, urban design, planning best practices
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Creation of maps and illustrative planning graphics, tables, and diagrams
- Photography, including the editing/cropping of images
- Software: Google Earth, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, SketchUp Pro and SketchUp Layout
