Hendricks Commercial Properties invests in, manages, and develops real estate throughout the United States and specializes in net leased real estate investments, management, and development with outside the box solutions to the most challenging of real estate needs. We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our team in Beloit, WI.

JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:

The COO has a pivotal role within a company’s operations.  The COO position provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. 

The COO reports directly to the CEO while collaborating on short-term and long-term plans and working with the CFO on accounting and finance processes and the CIO on investment processes.  The COO will work with the department heads to put procedures and resources in place to optimize inefficient areas within the company.  This position must provide leadership and ensure the company is maintaining its goals from the operational and cultural perspective.  The COO accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.

 

This position contributes to the accomplishment of the company’s operational practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, absolute accountability, quality, productivity and standards, and Objective and Key Results (OKR’s) attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce in accordance to the Company’s Manifesto and Culture Deck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                                                                                                                         

  • Oversees the company operations to meet business objectives and key results
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the organization that mirrors the adopted manifesto and culture deck of the company.
  • Responsible for driving the company processes to achieve and surpass revenues, profitability, cash flow and business goals and OKR’s.
  • Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.
  • Provide reports to the CEO and executive management team on company operations.
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external.  Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
  • Motivate and lead high-performance Senior Vice Presidents of Construction Management, Property Management, Risk Management and Information Technology.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field with at least 5 years of strong Commercial Real Estate Senior Management operational experience.

Experience, Training and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the commercial real estate operational requirements and procedures at all levels of the company.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational process planning and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset that translates into leadership skills.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
