Multi-family Real Estate Controller

Cardone Capital - Miami

Cardone Capital has an immediate opening for an experienced Multi-family Real Estate Controller to join our dynamic real estate team.

New York Times bestselling author, Reality TV Show Host and International Sales Expert, Grant Cardone was the largest private investor in multi-family real estate in the State of Florida and has a portfolio of over 5,000 units. Mr. Cardone, formed Cardone Capital with the mission to identify, acquire and manage income producing properties that provide opportunities for investors to preserve capital investments, and collect consistent cash distributions while waiting for future capital appreciation on the assets.

Job Duties

The Controller will oversee all financial and fiscal management aspects of the company operations, including (but not limited to) the listing below:

  • Oversee accounting and related reporting for Company and related Funds.
  • Reconcile/oversee all Company bank statements, inter-Company transactions, and financial statements for all transaction-related affiliates.
  • Prepare or supervise completion of financial statements for the Company and/or its affiliates.
  • Monitor the Company’s financial performance, flow of funds (cash control), expenditures, income and other budgetary items.
  • Prepare audit and tax workpapers for our outside accountants.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies, including maintenance and strengthening internal controls by reviewing and implementing process system changes.
  • Implement continuous financial audit and control systems.
  • Manage accounts payable transactions for the Company by verifying completion of services and/or compliance with Company policy.
  • Prepare and/or supervise preparation of invoices and issuance of invoices to third parties.
  • Work on special projects for the Company, including but not limited to software implementation, annual audits, reviews, tax preparation, regulatory documentation, expense reporting and miscellaneous external reports to third parties.
  • Supervise Company accountants and/or bookkeepers.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting from a 4 year University is required
  • CPA and/or Advanced Degree preferred

 

Professional Experience-5-8 Years of Experience with emphasis on the following:

  • Accounting for multifamily real estate funds or property management
  • Experience in supervising accountants/bookkeepers
  • LLC-Partnership accounting and taxation
  • GAAP and Tax Basis financial statements
  • SEC experience a plus

Other Skills

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Yardi and Quickbooks
  • Strong organization, planning and analytical skills
  • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

 

Working Conditions:

Salary (depending on experience)

Hours are Monday through Friday 9am-6pm with overtime as needed

Office location in Aventura, FL

Medical benefits and paid time off after trial period

Parking is provided
