The Department of Finance, Real Estate and Decision Sciences at Wichita State University offers courses in Finance, Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Real Estate and Business Law.

As part of the W. Frank Barton School of Business, FREDS is dedicated to contributing to business in the local and international community. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting each and every student interested in studying disciplines in our department.

Wichita State University is the only Kansas Board of Regents' institution to offer a degree program in real estate. By providing an emphasis through four different majors, Wichita State University allows you to custom design your program of study in an unique way among real estate programs in the United States.

Program Highlights

The Real Estate and Land Use Economics degree (a Major in Economics with an Emphasis in Real Estate) is designed to serve the needs of students interested in the broader conceptual and policy issues associated with real estate and land use. With its solid foundation in economic theory, this degree option is ideal for those desiring a career in public administration or those considering continuing their real estate studies in graduate school.

The Real Estate Development degree (a Major in Entrepreneurship with an Emphasis in Real Estate) is designed for students interested in pursing a career in property development or managing their own real estate company.

The Real Estate Finance and Investments degree (a Major In Finance with an Emphasis in Real Estate) is designed for students with a particular interest in commercial banking, real estate asset management, real estate investment analysis, or corporate real estate management.

The Real Estate Sales and Marketing degree (a Major in Marketing with an Emphasis in Real Estate) is intended to prepare students for a career in real estate marketing, particularly commercial and residential real estate brokerage, and property management.
