“People of color make up 12.8% of the C-suites at 89 of commercial real estate’s largest brokerages, developers, finance firms and real estate investment trusts, up from 11.6% in 2022 and 10.9% in 2021. Women in the C-suite have seen their representation increase to 26.2% this year from 25.6% in 2022 and 23.5% in 2021. “ 


In 2024, seeing these changes in C-Suite roles is encouraging, but granting opportunities for diverse hiring and promotion across all levels is just as important. Especially with succession planning at the forefront of the minds of recruiters everywhere, making sure that hires are upending conventional perspectives while ensuring continuity in their inherited roles is a fine line recruiters nationwide are walking.
