Job Summary:

The Communications Manager will be responsible for Hana's internal and external communications planning and execution. The Communications Manager will report directly to the Director of Communications & Brand and will be responsible for, but not limited to, proactive and reactive media relations, strategic messaging development, public partner announcements and launches, speaking engagements, internal communications activities and more. This is a global role partnering closely with CBRE Comms and Hana Leaders throughout the US, UK and beyond.

The ideal Communications Manager works well under pressure and is a critical thinker able to craft strategic, unique messaging to tell Hana's story in a crowded, fast-paced industry. This person will be a thought partner to the Director of Comms & Brand and will often work closely with members of the Hana Senior Leadership Team on public-facing media and speaking events.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 
  • Manage reactive and proactive media inquiries
  • Manage global PR efforts for all Hana's partner announcements, openings and strategic partnerships. This includes working closely with Hana landlord partners, strategic marketing partners, enterprise clients and more.
  • Oversee all Hana strategic messaging materials and draft new messaging to outpace the evolving industry.
  • Work closely with regional teams to ensure messaging reflects each local market
  • Create cadence of proactive 'newsjacking' moments to garner additional press mentions
  • Partner with CBRE Corporate Communications to ensure all Hana news is communicated effectively throughout CBRE's 90,000-person organization
  • Draft and manage all Hana internal and external newsletters
  • Work across teams to develop new internal communications strategies
  • Facilitate Hana All Hands calls (bi-weekly)
  • Partner with HR team to ensure Hana updates and announcements are communicated effectively
  •  Further establish executive visibility and speaking programs for company leaders and subject matter experts; track and manage all speaking engagements
  • Train and develop executives in the art of media interviews (media training) and public speaking.
  • Work closely with Director of Comms & Brand to develop Public Affairs strategy and execution
  • Set, track and report on KPIs to marketing leadership, executive leadership and other key stakeholders



Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 4-10 years' experience in a PR/Comms. Corporate experience required and a mix of corporate and agency experience preferred
  • Public Affairs and/or Government Relations experience a plus
  • Previous experience managing agency teams
  • Comfort and confidence with C-suite and company leaders
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and regularly think of ways to do things differently, more efficiently and with greater productivity
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
 
 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will work closely with a variety of teams across the organization.

 
 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, plus 4-10 years of communications experience
  • Proven project management competencies, effective marketing communications samples, and superior verbal communication skills.
 
 Communication Skills:
  • Able to distill complex concepts and transactions into simple, clear soundbites
  • Solid presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to upper management and internal departments.
  • Able to seamlessly build trust across organizations by being a good listener and soliciting input and feedback.

  • Understands and signs up for success metric, viewing them as a key driver of motivation for a team.

  • Critical, strategic thinker and story-teller
  • Takes an innovative, entrepreneurial approach to any issues that may arise.
