Associate, Capital Markets and Investment Programs
Interwest Capital Group (ICG) is a La Jolla-based real estate investment firm that specializes in the acquisition, operation and repositioning primarily of multifamily and hospitality assets across the US. ICG’s success is founded on building relationships, identifying suitable investment markets, targeting underperforming assets and finding new development opportunities.
Job Description
Capital Markets:
The candidate will be responsible for helping raise equity, debt and execute structured finance solutions for ICG’s principal acquisition transactions.
Structured Programs and New Business Development:
- The candidate will additionally be tasked with reviewing and underwriting prospective projects to determine if they qualify for ICG’s Co-GP Investment Program and preferred equity/mezzanine investments
- Help analyze potential capital markets execution for existing ICG programs
- Work closely with the Executive Vice President to develop business plans and establish new verticals
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities aligned with ICGs investment criteria
- Manage CRM for existing and prospective investors
- Prepare, and be able to explain investment material to prospective investors and other capital markets participants
- Analyze and explain historical and projected financial information
- Prepare transaction material for ICG’s investment committee
Competencies and Skills
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in one or more industry disciplines, such as real estate capital markets, investment banking, private equity, and/or family office investing
- Strong transaction level underwriting skill set
- Capital-raising experience for real estate projects, with specific experience in multifamily and hospitality sectors preferred
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to excel in a small entrepreneurial environment
- High level on integrity and dependability
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite and relevant real estate software and data analytics
- Competency in working with and creating Excel models and PowerPoint presentations
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree, preferably an MBA or Masters degree
