Job Description
Urban Designer (Austin, TX) F/T. Perform & participate in the dsgn process of urban projects w/ emphasis on sustainable & resilient community & regional planning dsgn. Perform geospatial analysis for vulnerability & risk assessment studies. Engage in large scale data analysis in urban contexts by demonstrating proficiency working w/ GIS applications, web application dvlpmt, CAD mapping, 3D comp modeling & graphic dsgn. Dvlp computational dsgn tools utilizing various scripting languages such as Python, visual scripting tools such as grasshopper, & ArcGIS API. Create & perform quality control on GIS d/bases for geospatial web applications. Research & dvlp analysis methodology framework for master planning urban district projects. Reqmts are: Master's deg (or foreign educational equiv) in Urban Dsgn, Urban Planning, Architecture or Community & Regional Planning. Graduate-level coursework on Post-Disaster reconstruction (Disaster Mgmt & Reconstruction, Residential Complexes & Disasters or closely related) reqd. LEED Green Associate designation or ability to obtain w/in 6 months of hire reqd. Demonstrated proficiency working w/ the following reqd: GIS d/bases, 3D comp modeling & graphic dsgn s/ware; scripting languages such as Python, & visual scripting tools such as Grasshopper, exp w/ ArcGIS API for Python; & dvlpg geospatial web applications reqd.
