Position Summary

Hillwood Investment Properties is currently seeking a Transaction Associate to join the Southeast Region Team. The Associate will directly support the VP of Leasing with all new business pursuits for industrial development transactions which include land acquisitions, marketing, leasing, financing, and dispositions. This Associate will also work closely with the EVP/Market Leader, financial analysts, and Marketing in all aspects of the industrial development and acquisition process.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in all lease, land acquisition, and joint venture proposals
  • Coordinate and implement the marketing strategy for properties based on the VP’s guidance
  • Assist the EVP and VP with coordination between Development Directors on due diligence, site planning and pre-construction activities
  • Work with the Development Directors to price potential tenant improvements
  • Monitor competing developments with the assistance of our listing brokers and CoStar
  • Assist with negotiating leases and purchase and sale agreements
  • Attend leasing prospect tours
  • Maintain internal databases including prospect activity, pipeline reports, and comps
  • Work with the EVP, VP, and financial analysts to write investment committee memoranda
  • Coordinate with the acquisition, finance, debt, and disposition teams on all projects
  • Research and identify potential land acquisition sites
  • Assist with business development and sourcing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent analytical skills, preferably with a strong foundation in real estate underwriting
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and self-manage deadlines
  • Demonstrate high level of professional demeanor, integrity, ethics, and leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive-level internal and external clients
  • Proficiency in MS Office software applications

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years real estate transaction experience or a related financial discipline such as commercial real estate lending
