Job Description
Brixton Capital is a private real estate investment firm based in Solana Beach, California with over $1.3B in AUM focusing primarily on Multifamily and Retail investments. We are currently seeking a Multifamily Acquisitions Associate responsible for assisting in the sourcing of multifamily investment opportunities within the Western US.
The Multifamily Acquisitions Associate will work in collaboration with the investment team to source, analyze and underwrite potential multifamily investments and to execute the overall investment program. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team that includes the disciplines of finance, research, acquisitions, asset management and marketing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Sourcing multifamily investment opportunities
- Networking and building strong broker relationships within the marketplace
- Working with an analyst to prepare and modify discounted cash flow projection models with respect to an investment, utilizing both Excel and Argus.
- Assist with all due diligence relating to new investments including but not limited to the review of third party environmental and engineering reports, title, survey, property condition reports, historical financial statements, rent rolls, leases, and market research.
- Assembling and drafting investment memos to be presented to investment committee.
- Assist with financing and disposition transactions.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports when needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong skills in financial analysis and modeling; high competency in preparing cash flow projections including sensitivity analyses.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role in a commercial real estate firm.
- Experience in underwriting multifamily property acquisitions preferred.
- Experience in preparing written investment recommendations and participating in investment opportunity presentations.
- Candidate should be proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and possess the ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication and writing skills as well as a high degree of integrity.
