Morgan in 2011.  Led by managing principal John Fraser, the business is privately owned and operated (no longer affiliated with J.P. Morgan) and comprises an integrated team of investment professionals headquartered in New York City. JRE sources, structures and manages direct investments in compelling value-creation opportunities in U.S. commercial and residential real estate, and invests directly and in partnership with other leading real estate firms, typically in controlling equity positions.

Job Description

Unique opportunity to join an established team of passionate industry veterans and play an active role in both the acquisition and asset management of JRE investments.  Analysts will work in small teams with experienced real estate private equity investment professionals to invest and manage capital throughout the life cycle of investments and to expand the firm’s investment capabilities and investor base.  The analyst experience will be characterized by significant learning opportunities and responsibilities, broad exposure to all aspects of the transaction process, and substantial direct interaction with senior JRE executives.  Analysts on the JRE team take a lead role in investment analysis and research, preparation of financial models, investment memoranda and reporting, and participate in all aspects of the investment underwriting, execution, asset management and fundraising process.  JRE is seeking self-motivated, top performing professionals with a strong interest in real estate private equity. 

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing and underwriting investment opportunities and building investment models across asset classes, geographies, and capital stack positions, including common equity and debt
• Extensive financial modeling, including Excel and ARGUS models
• Writing and preparing investment committee memoranda, presentations and reports
• Ongoing market and sector research
• Investment due diligence
• Fund marketing and investment syndication support

 Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a real estate, private equity, finance, investment banking or related role
• Excellent academic track record from top undergraduate institution
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Strong quantitative and analytical skill set
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and operate with limited supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Dedicated team player with entrepreneurial attitude
• Strong work ethic and sense of ownership
