Arch Companies is a New York City based real estate investment, development, construction and asset management firm active across the United States with a concentration on primary and secondary markets. Arch Asset Management, a division of Arch Companies, is seeking an Analyst / Associate. The position will be based in our New York City headquarters and report directly to the head of Arch Asset Management. The Analyst / Associate will be involved in monitoring asset management responsibilities across the portfolio including the evaluation of key performance indicators. This person will interact with other Arch Companies’ divisions such as marketing, development, accounting, construction and finance as well as 3rd party vendors. The position will be based in our New York City offices. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of individual investments and the portfolio as a whole
  • Ongoing analysis of existing property financials, leasing trends, tenant expiration schedules, submarket fundamentals, and portfolio trends
  • Track status/completion of assigned action items within the portfolio
  • Model operating cash flow and analyze the financial impact of key business decisions
  • Oversee various property-related matters, such as reviewing tenant reimbursement calculations, analyzing utilities usage, overseeing the real estate tax appeal process, tracking insurance certificates, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of and contribute to marketing calls through analysis of historical and current pricing, lease expiration reports, and market trends
  • Monitor operations of properties, including interacting directly with the property managers in anticipation of the preparation of key deliverables
  • Review monthly property management reports to help identify, follow-up with, and resolve financial and operational issues
  • Prepare deliverables to comply with loan document and operating agreement reporting requirements
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual asset management updates which include market commentary, financial analyses, and updates on strategic initiatives and capital improvement plans
  • Analyze actual property performance compared to the adopted business plan, annual budget, and historical performance
  • Support the asset management team with establishing and adopting the annual budget, strategy and goals for each assigned property
  • Assist in the onboarding of properties from acquisitions and/or development to operations
  • Conduct market research and analysis to obtain strong local market knowledge of competitor product offerings, positioning, location, and market supply and demand trends
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and special projects, as assigned

Required Skills 

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years prior real estate asset management experience; multi-family experience is a plus
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, real estate or other similar fields
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; RealPage and Smartsheet experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational and deadline management skills
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to comfortably multi-task
  • Self-starter, dedicated and professional demeanor capable of thriving in an intense, high-energy, transaction-driven environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and contribute to a team environment
