Stockbridge’s Platform Business (“SPB”) applies its significant expertise in transaction structuring and company formation to design large-scale platform investments based on our thesis-driven approach that focuses on areas of long-term secular growth—e.g., driven by demographics, technology, or lifestyle preferences—and sectors best positioned to benefit.

This is both a qualitative and quantitative position where strong financial and written skills are necessary.  This role also seeks an individual with leadership qualities who can work with an existing team of professionals while mentoring junior team members.

Opportunity and Position Summary

Stockbridge is seeking to hire an Investment Vice President to join the SPB Portfolio and Asset Management Team!  This role will focus on managing stabilized assets while scaling development opportunities through various existing operating platforms. Our platforms span the risk/return spectrum, and this role will be oriented around mixed use opportunities (office, multifamily and retail) and single property type strategies, specifically multifamily.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of market fundamentals primarily across office, life science and residential asset classes. Analyze opportunities from a qualitative and quantitative perspective. Participate in evaluating opportunities to satisfy investment objectives
  • Review and prepare financial models in Excel for new and existing assets and developments, including investment assumptions, sensitivity analyses, various leverage structures and joint venture structuring
  • Assist in managing and coordinating the transaction process including communication with investors, joint venture partners, lenders, and research
  • Participate in drafting internal and external presentations and memos regarding ongoing performance of operating platforms.
  • Maintain and build relationships with internal and external parties including brokers, sellers, developers, and advisors to continue to scale existing and new platform opportunities
  • Collaborate with other functions within the Stockbridge company on opportunities and market dynamics
  • Consider ESG matters in connection with transaction analysis and portfolio oversight

Skills and Competencies

  • All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, with preferred degrees in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics or related area
  • Strong academic credentials required
  • 7-10 years of real estate finance experience and strong experience with Excel, Argus and financial modeling
  • Proven analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective writing skills and ability to synthesize information, as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong ability to mentor and coach junior team

Travel

Will travel as needed.
