Position Overview

PEC is seeking an Analyst who is a recent graduate to join its investment management team. This position will be part of a small group of experienced professionals led by one of the company’s senior leaders.

The position will be based in PEC’s downtown Chicago office. PEC is currently operating in a hybrid work model with majority of days in the office. In person collaboration and learning are integral to PEC’s culture and success in this role.

The qualified individual will be an analytical thinker with a strong work ethic, be willing to wear multiple hats, and have the desire to be an essential part of a team-oriented business. This person will have strong interpersonal and writing skills, and be able to analyze, interpret and synthesize a wide range of quantitative and qualitative information.

The primary areas for which this individual will be accountable:

• Investment Activity

• • Successful completion of PEC’s training program
  • Apply real estate underwriting techniques to the review of acquisitions, developments, dispositions, and debt financing being deployed at the REOC level
  • Assist with managing the transaction pipeline
  • Assist with written and verbal presentation of investment analysis and recommendations

• Strategy

• • Participation in investment management team discussions and deliberations
  • Support senior PEC investment management professionals and REOC management teams in preparation and review of annual REOC business plans
  • Various ad-hoc projects related to PEC investment strategy and capital budgeting

• Research & Analysis

• • Develop comprehensive familiarity with PEC sectors, REOCs, markets and assets
  • Review and interpret property and company level performance data
  • Participate in market and asset level tours
  • Ongoing and special research related to space market fundamentals and macroeconomic trends

Preferred skills, capabilities, and experience:

• Up to one year of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Well-developed data analysis, math, problem solving, presentation and writing skills
• Technological interest and aptitude, including strong Excel skills; Argus a plus
• Irreproachable character and integrity
• Sound judgement
• Intellectual curiosity
• Desire to make an impact

• Ability to form great relationships based on trust and goodwill

• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and performance standards

• Travel required, including overnight stays (< 25%)
