Job Description
Position Title: Financial Analyst – Asset Management
Reports to: Director, Technology & Analytics (Asset Management Group)
The Financial Analyst is responsible to perform a variety of financial analysis of multifamily investment properties, support Asset Managers, and prepare recurring (see below) and one-off reports for investors and senior management. The analyst will work primarily with the Managing Director of Asset Management, the Director of Technology & Analytics, and the Asset Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the asset managers by understanding the assets, the partners, the business strategy, and the challenges.
- Perform yield on cost/return on investment analysis of unit renovation projects.
- Participate on regular calls with the properties and SP’s equity partners to review strategy, financial performance, and address areas of underperformance.
- Update annual property budgets and revise property financial forecasts throughout the year.
- Assist with disposition analysis, IRR calculations, and sales proceeds waterfalls.
- Gather due diligence materials for sales and refinances.
- Track down answers to issues stemming from financial statements (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, and general ledgers).
- Quarterly distributions. Support asset managers on select property distributions by populating the Excel workbooks with financials, updating current equity balances, and revising the forecasts.
- Quarterly Distributions & Yield Report for Senior Management. Work with Asset Managers to compile the report, prepare explanations, and research anomalies.
- Quarterly investor letter reports. Provide commentary and compile metrics for letters sent to SP’s investors.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or related field, or possess an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in financial/data analysis with a strong preference for prior real estate experience.
- Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving, and decision-making skills including financial analysis, statistical analysis, and business case development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and interact with team members at all levels throughout the organization.
- Ability to present findings to a group including company executives.
- Ability to multi-task including project management and administration, customer service, and special project work.
Competitive Compensation Package
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
