Job Description

The Debt Capital Markets team works to secure funds for acquisitions, refinancing existing debt, back leverage for lending investments and special projects. The team operates in a rapidly moving environment and works closely with our portfolio companies.  As a member of the Debt Capital Markets Team, you will gain significant exposure to both internal and external stakeholders including banks, investors and rating agencies across a range of debt structures.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of professionals involved in debt capital markets activities and provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Conduct complex financial modeling (including cash models) and analysis to assess the impact of debt financing on the organization's overall capital structure.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful internal and external presentations, tailored to captivate diverse audiences.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive debt financing strategies that align with the organization's financial goals and risk appetite.
  • Participation in execution involving; negotiating the terms of the deal and liaising with internal teams to completion of documentation (onboarding, document reviews and client servicing for the duration of the deal). As needed, coordinating with third parties in due diligence process.
  • Support business lines in the execution of alternative financing and refinancing options to diversify the group funding structure.
  • Assist negotiations with investors, underwriters, and legal counsel to secure favorable terms and conditions for debt issuances.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting/treasury, legal, and senior management, to ensure alignment and successful execution of debt financing strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors, credit rating agencies, and financial institutions to ensure successful debt offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to debt capital markets activities.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, interest rate movements, and regulatory changes impacting debt capital markets to make informed decisions.
  • Actively engage in and bolster the continuous management of current debt facilities.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of investor and due diligence reports, as well as other essential stakeholder reporting, ensuring a polished, accurate and professional presentation.
  • Updating and reviewing databases to identify potential counterparties.  This information will be used for marketing purposes to aid in the origination efforts of the team

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) is highly desirable.
  • Several years’ experience in debt capital markets, investment banking, or a related financial services role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in debt issuance, structuring, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of global financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and investor sentiments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward achieving strategic objectives.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial modeling and risk assessments.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
