Job Description

Wellings Capital is a real estate private equity firm dedicated to helping investors protect and grow their wealth through commercial real estate. Our vision is to provide multi-generational financial security to our investors and become the premier provider of alternative passive investing opportunities for accredited investors. We're hiring a Marketing Manager to join our team as we scale from $125 million in equity under management to $200 million in equity under management by 12-31-2024.

The mission for this role is to increase the number of qualified investor leads coming to Wellings Capital and to increase awareness of our real estate investment capabilities to both prospective investors and operating partners.

Approximately 85% of this role is focused on the capital raise side of our business. Approximately 15% of this role is focused on the capital deployment side of our business, which involves driving new operator leads to Wellings Capital and ensuring our existing operators want to keep doing business with us.

The ideal candidate will live within a 3.5 hour driving distance of Lynchburg, VA. We expect that the Marketing Manager will visit Wellings Capital’s office in Forest, VA once per month or every other month for 3-4 days. There will be minimal travel required for events and conferences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

First 180 days

  • Within 30 days, prepare a plan of action to take qualified leads from 15 per week to 25 per week.

  • Within 90 days, prepare a comprehensive list of paid advertising channels for high-net-worth individuals along with costs and recommendations. 

  • Within 90 days, identify non-paid channels for leveraging existing content. 

  • Within 90 days, conduct an in-depth assessment of the SEO capability of existing content and opportunities to improve. Present findings and recommendations.

  • Within 120 days, identify all the opportunities to leverage Hubspot. Identify tools, apps, and components of Hubspot to improve marketing communications and lead-generation.

  • Within 120 days, achieve 30 qualified leads per week from current level of 15 per week.

  • Within 120 days, develop metrics/KPIs for tracking success for a monthly management report on paid advertising channels.

  • Within 150 days, assume accountability for the program of gifting/appreciation strategy for investors and identify improvements/changes to this program. 45% of existing investors make 2+ investments with Wellings

  • Within 180 days, develop a plan of action to repurpose existing content of blogs, videos, and audio programming. Develop a marketing calendar of posting to social media, email marketing, etc.

  • Within 180 days, prepare a plan of action to improve communications with the current 18 operating partners. Create a written plan to expand marketing Wellings Capital to companies seeking investments/operators.

Ongoing

  • Developing and executing multi-faceted, integrated marketing plans that drive qualified investor leads to Wellings Capital.

  • Analyzing campaign metrics/KPIs to track results and generate insights to improve future initiatives

  • Overseeing creation and maintenance of collateral including: pitchbooks, presentations, fund updates, invitations, emails, investor letters, white papers, educational pieces, and multimedia content, including videos, animation, and interactive tools

  • Translating complex concepts into clear and compelling illustrations suitable for print, onscreen, and web use

  • Conducting regular assessments of the SEO capability of existing content and creating opportunities to improve SEO ranking

  • Conducting competitive, industry and trend research to enhance narratives, presentations, and materials

  • Assume accountability for the program of gifting/appreciation strategy for investors

  • Creating marketing programs inspired by marketplace trends, business cycles, target audiences, and investor challenges

  • Proactively build connectivity and find synergies by sourcing and sharing information with colleagues

  • Leading status meetings to facilitate transparency, exchange of ideas, and on time completion of projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience marketing financial, technical and/or complex products

  • Prior experience in financial services, asset management or alternative investment marketing, communications, or program management (preferred)

  • Experience leading multi-channel marketing initiatives from concept through execution

  • Strong project management skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • The ability to translate complicated information into compelling messaging/narratives and visuals that resonate with target audiences

  • Experience integrating marketing and sales activities, including lead generation

  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office applications
