Job Description
This position will report to the Controller and assist others in all departments in relation to accounting and financial support.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage accounts payable, including payment process, in a timely manner
- Assist in ensuring an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and enter journal entries for transactions, distributions, and monthly reporting
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for various properties
- Prepare monthly reports
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure for external audits
- Assist with budget and forecasting activities for property portfolios
- Monitor and analyze departmental work to develop efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties regarding financial results, special reports and other requests
- Work with auditors and outside tax accountants to ensure all information and report requests are addressed in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare annual 1099s for vendors
- Assist in tenant CAM reconciliations
- Review entity tax returns and partner K-1s
- Communicate with tenants regarding monthly rent statements and collection as necessary
- Review lien waivers and construction draws
- Calculate investor distributions
- Aid in strategic development and implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance performance workflow and internal controls
- Complete special projects, workflow process improvements, and other duties as assigned
Education And Experience
- BA/BS in in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Demonstrated progressive experience in financial reporting
- Previous experience communicating with external auditors
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of real estate accounting software, Rent Manager preferred

- Ability to effectively present information to top management, other employees, as well as partners and investors
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication
