Job Description

Pontus Capital is seeking a hardworking, highly motivated Analyst to join our growing, entrepreneurial private real estate investment firm. This role offers broad exposure across acquisitions, portfolio management, operations, and financial reporting, with a primary focus on Acquisitions. You will provide analytical support throughout the investment lifecycle: origination, screening, underwriting, closing, and asset management, and assist with general firm operations as needed.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the underwriting of potential investment opportunities, including financial modeling, scenario analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare clear, well-structured investment memoranda and presentation materials to support acquisition recommendations and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of existing investments, including analysis of operating results and portfolio-level metrics.
  • Research and evaluate market conditions in existing and prospective target markets; synthesize findings to inform investment theses and recommendations.
  • Support transaction execution and portfolio management activities, coordinating across internal teams and external partners to drive timelines and deliverables.
  • Assist with financial reporting and contribute to the firm’s general operations and process improvements.

Qualifications
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in private equity, real estate investing, or investment banking; related experience in accounting, finance, or strategy/consulting is also valuable.
  • BA/BS in finance, real estate, accounting, economics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability, including advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with data and presentation tools is a plus.
  • Clear, concise communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into practical insights.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and a track record of high performance or accelerated responsibility.
  • Desire to contribute meaningfully within a collaborative, growth-oriented team.
