Position Summary
RJK is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our construction processes and development activities. This executive leadership role requires a visionary leader with a strong track record in navigating and managing large, complex development projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in the construction industry, a deep understanding of development processes, the ability to collaborate across multiple divisions, and strong connections with municipalities and investment partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of RJK construction operations, providing guidance to the VPs of Construction to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Work with the SVP of Development to create, lead, and implement operational best practices to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s development and construction activities.
- Lead the creation and execution of strategic goals for large-scale construction and development projects.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders across multiple disciplines, ensuring seamless project integration and operational performance.
- Utilize extensive experience in large, complex development and construction projects to mentor senior teams and drive operational excellence.
- Build and nurture relationships with municipalities, government agencies, and investment partners to underwrite and secure approvals and financing for new projects.
- Navigate regulatory challenges, ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Leverage industry relationships to drive growth and increase development and construction opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or in a senior leadership role within the construction and development industry.
- Extensive background in overseeing complex construction and development projects from concept to completion.
- Strong network of professional relationships with municipalities, government bodies, and investment partners.
- In-depth knowledge of construction operations, regulatory environments, and development procedures.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to think strategically, drive organizational change, and manage high-priority, multi-faceted projects.
