Asset Manager – Phoenix, AZ

Dunbar Real Estate Investment Management is seeking a full-time Asset Manager to join our Phoenix office. The Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a portfolio of industrial real estate assets in coordination with Dunbar’s acquisitions, property management, and leasing partners. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in commercial real estate, with a strong background in lease negotiation, budgeting, property-level financial analysis, and operational oversight. 

The candidate must be a motivated self-starter, capable of managing multiple responsibilities independently while also collaborating closely with team members and third parties. Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, as the role involves frequent coordination with tenants, brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, as well as the preparation of detailed investor reporting. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee a portfolio of industrial assets throughout their investment life cycle
  • Lead lease negotiations and renewals in coordination with brokers and legal counsel
  • Monitor property performance relative to underwriting and business plans
  • Manage tenant relationships, property operations, and capital and tenant improvement projects
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets in collaboration with accounting and property managers
  • Prepare monthly investor reports and other reports as needed
  • Coordinate with accounting and property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Review asset-level loans and evaluate debt strategy in coordination with the firm’s broader investment objectives
  • Support acquisition due diligence and disposition planning and execution
  • Work alongside property managers to oversee two stabilized multi-family properties in Dunbar’s portfolio

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, preferably in asset management, leasing, or property operations
  • Proven experience with commercial lease negotiation
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and Excel
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the Phoenix commercial real estate market
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to travel throughout the Phoenix metro area to visit properties and meet with tenants along with occasional trips to the company’s headquarters in Southern California

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with new investment due diligence
  • Familiarity with property management
  • Background in construction project/capital improvement projects
