Job Description
- Assist with all aspects of the loan origination process including gathering and reviewing due diligence information provided by Borrowers and intermediaries (mortgage brokers), organizing due diligence files, leading transaction management calls with all members on both the internal and external deal team to keep closing timelines on track.
- Prepare loan quotes, term sheets, and financial models for new loan originations.
- Work directly with a senior team members to develop and maintain and enhance client relationships.
- Help to source new business.
- Manage client and broker communications, ensuring timely responses and relationship management.
- Support all aspects of the underwriting process including market research, property tours, deal structuring, term sheet and loan document negotiation.
- Coordinate across internal teams (credit, legal, securitization, asset management) to drive deals to closing.
- Maintain organized tracking of pipeline, pricing, and transaction files.
- Prepare and present investment memos for the investment/credit committee.
- 3–5 years of experience in origination, mortgage banking, commercial real estate finance, investment sales, investment banking, underwriting, or similar fields is required (direct bridge/CMBS experience is a plus).
- Advanced financial modeling skills required (Excel required; Argus is a plus). Core competencies will be tested during the interview process.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deals for multiple clients simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — must be personable and confident in client settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or related discipline is required.
- Familiarity with legal documentation, structuring, and due diligence processes is preferred.
- Frequent travel to tour properties, attend industry events, and in-person client meetings will be required.
- Work with a top-tier, investment-grade mortgage REIT with a $47B+ track record.
- Exposure to a high volume of bridge, conduit, and special situations lending opportunities across all commercial property types nationwide.
- High visibility to senior leadership and direct involvement in all aspects of transactions.
