Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vice President of Asset Management / Acquisitions to join our team. This mid-senior role will focus on managing existing debt and equity investments and provide support for underwriting new acquisitions and managing the closing process. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in multifamily asset management with exposure to underwriting and investment analysis. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. This position requires a minimum of 2-3 days in office per week with flexible work at home options. 

The position provides the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a small and growing company with a team of very experienced and knowledgeable real estate professionals. A fantastic opportunity for a professional who is self-motivated, can work independently, has attention to detail, and wants to gain experience in working with complex financial structures. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Asset Management. Analyze operational performance of existing investments and prepare and execute annual business plans. 
  • Due Diligence Review. Conduct and coordinate due diligence of potential investments (e.g., order and review third-party reports, loan and bond documents, preliminary title reports, etc.) and prepare investment committee memos summarizing investments and outlining risks, mitigants, and the financing structure.
  • Financial Modeling. Support team in building and maintaining detailed financial models in Excel to evaluate both existing investments and new investment opportunities.
  • Transaction Execution. Execute deal closings through coordination with investment bankers, title, escrow, and counsel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; preferred majors include finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of real estate asset management, underwriting or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience with affordable housing and private activity bonds is not required, but a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in a team setting.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently and entrepreneurial spirit.

Compensation:

  • $155,000 to $180,000 annual base salary (based on experience), plus annual bonus.
