In this role, the "Electrical Engineering Design Product Manager", will be managing projects involving the design of electrical products that are critical to the uninterrupted operations our client's data center electrical infrastructure.
As a CBRE employee, the ideal candidate will support our technology client with the development of new electrical products that are critical to the client's data center electrical infrastructure. Prior experience in managing the design, manufacturing, field installation and operations of the following is critical to this role:
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems within a hyperscale data center environment
- Ongoing maintenance of existing UPS standards
- Meet regularly with data center operations and client on-site construction teams to obtain feedback on existing UPS designs
- Be the first point of contact for technical issues on existing UPS deployments
- Research and develop solutions based on technical feasibility, cost, disruption to live facilities, availability, etc.
- Coordinate with UPS manufacturer engineering representatives
- Review recommended solution with client's engineering organization
- Manager and spearhead business/technical approvals (as required) through necessary channels
- Manage existing documentation on UPS standards including drawings, specifications, technical submittals, user guides, etc. and supplement/update as required
- Manage existing roadmap of desired new features, bug fixes, etc. for next version of the UPS Product
- Coordinate with client engineering management, UPS manufacturer, and other stakeholders to implement agreed-upon new features and bug fixes
- Create updated documentation for the new product release including drawings, specifications, technical submittals, etc.
- Revise and update standard bills of material based on feedback from manufacturer and customer
- Manage existing roadmap of desired new features, bug fixes, etc. for next versions.
- Track product integration into overall design and on-site construction.
- Ongoing maintenance of existing F/A standards
- Meet regularly with data center operations and construction teams to obtain feedback on existing F/A issues
- Scope covers networking, F/A control panels, air-sampling detector ('VESDA'), annunciating and activating devices.
- Be the first point of contact for technical issues on existing F/A installations
- Research and develop solutions based on technical feasibility, cost, disruption to live facilities, availability, etc.
- Coordinate with F/A manufacturers engineering representatives
- Review recommended solution with client's engineering management and spearhead business/technical approvals (as required) through necessary channels
- Manage existing documentation on F/A standards including drawings, specifications, technical submittals, user guides, etc. and supplement/update as required
- As introduced by client's design engineering consultants, evaluate new technologies and design strategies
- Support new building configurations and product designs that affect F/A, providing drawing and spec review as required
- Technical single point of contact for maintenance of all Division 26 master specification sections
- Manage proposed or suggested revisions to the specs from the rest of the engineering team
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to accept or reject revisions
- Creation of detailed changelog for each version of the spec
- Coordinate with TPM as required to re-issue periodic spec updates to external teams
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University in a technical area of study. Minimum six years of related experience and/or training.
Prior experience in a supervisory position (direct report responsibilities) required if specific duties include direct report responsibilities.
PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
