Position: Analyst, Investments & Asset Management

Hours: Full-time Monday – Friday— some flexibility is required

THE POSITION
The Analyst will be part of the asset management and investments team, reporting to the Senior Director – Investments. This position will assist in all areas of the company’s asset management and investment functions including the below.
- Provide underwriting support for acquisitions and development projects
- Prepare internal financial reporting and forecasting
- Read, abstract and analyze complex legal real estate documentation to include leases, financing / loan agreements and mortgage documents
- Perform various financial analyses as they relate to calculating net effective rents, returns on equity, returns on investment, internal rates of return and other measures appropriate for performance measurement
- Evaluate real estate market data, economic and demographic information
- Compile investment analysis for presentation to senior management which has a high quality of accuracy and visual layout
- Prepare cash flow and underwriting analysis of value-creation opportunities, and complete presentation materials summarizing results
- Assist in development and implementation of annual budgets and business plans to maximize the value of the portfolio including hold/sell recommendations
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 to 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance, economics, or related field
- Experience working with Argus is an asset but not a requirement
- Experience in valuations and financial modelling
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook; and ability to learn and master new applications

- Team player who can work with multiple departments to complete a project

- Passion for urban real estate and “character” space
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work well in a small office environment, while also effectively communicating and connecting with external consultants and stakeholders
